How to install a copier with printer function on a network?
My office has a Kyocera Mita KM 5035 KX copier with the option to network print to it. When got it they installed it on the computers in the office for free because they were also dropping the copier off. Now we have more computers and it needs to be on those too. the company charges too much to do it so i was wondering if there was anyway to do it myself?
When they installed it, they should have given you some books and cds. One of the cds should be the driver install disk. If you have that you could just pop it in the computer and follow the prompts.
Or call the copier people and tell them your IT guy wants the driver disk for the copier
Otherwise, you would have to navigate kyocera website and find the appropriate driver and download it.
The only tricky part about drivers is you have to pay attention to which operating system you have. You have to use the right driver for the right operating system. Many times, the driver is a package that works with multiple operating systems, with the exception of the new 64 bit operating sytems. Also, sometimes techs use TCP/IP ports.
What you could do is look at one that is setup already. Right click on the printer icon, then select properties, look for a tab that says ports, u can find out what sorta port its using
If thats too complicated, simply share the printer on one that is installed, then on the other computers you can do add printer, and have it search for network printer
